Families Helping Families: LA Fire Relief Drive
In January 2025, as wildfires tore through parts of Los Angeles, families across Southern California were left reeling—many losing homes, belongings, and essentials overnight. When we saw our LA neighbors hurting, we felt an immediate call to help.
Within days, families in our Orange County community rallied together around one mission: to bring dignity, comfort, and practical support to parents who had lost everything—including something as essential as a stroller for their children.
Thanks to the collective effort and generous hearts of so many, we gathered 36 strollers—both new and gently used. But this effort was more than a donation drive. It became a hands-on mission of love.
Children from our foundation played a vital role, helping clean, detail, and prepare each stroller with care. These weren’t just hand-me-downs—they were gifts prepared with intention, compassion, and pride. We wanted every parent receiving a stroller to feel respected and supported, not pitied.
Parents in our network took turns driving across Southern California to personally deliver the strollers to families in need. It was a true example of what happens when we empower families—and especially children—to lead with kindness.
A heartfelt thank you to Alysia Phillips, Natalie Conant, and Michelle Taormina for taking the lead in organizing, coordinating logistics, and delivering fast, thoughtful solutions. Their dedication turned a spontaneous act of kindness into a movement.
At the Travis Taormina Foundation, our mission is simple: families helping families. And this effort reflected exactly that—children and parents working side by side to serve, support, and uplift others through hands-on love in action.
